Breast Lift
Mastopexy
A breast lift helps restore breast fullness and placement. This procedure is ideal for women who are happy with the size and volume of their breasts, but want to correct drooping and low areola placement. Genetic factors combined with pregnancy, breastfeeding, and aging can cause breasts to lose their youthful shape and descend on the chest wall.
Breast lift surgery removes excess skin and tightens surrounding skin to support, lift, and reshape a new breast contour. Size and shape of the breasts, size and position of the areolas, degree of sagging and quality of the breast skin determine the variety of techniques and incision patterns that can be used to create a rejuvenated shape.
Minimal nipple malposition can be adjusted with only a peri-areolar incision. Moderate sagging can sometimes be corrected with a vertical only incision. In more severe cases, an inverted-T shaped incision may be necessary but the horizontal scar can be concealed in the breast fold. In certain cases, a simultaneous breast augmentation may be performed to create lift in the breast or when the patient desires some increase in breast size.
