Gastrointestinal Surgery
When issues and diseases arise in the esophagus, stomach, intestines, rectum and related parts and systems, patients will work with the skilled physicians of VCU Health Gastrointestinal Surgery. We are a team of fellowship-trained surgeons and a skilled staff who deliver exemplary, patient-centered care every day. We are also supported by an outstanding multidisciplinary team of nurses, nurse-practitioners, dieticians, endocrinologists, gastroenterologists, and radiologists, among others.
We also boast the VCU Minimally Invasive Surgery Center, a program designed to offer the safe, effective, and minimally invasive treatments – those that require small or no incisions – for all common and complex general surgery conditions within the abdominal walls.
Esophageal and Gastric (Foregut)
We treat all benign and malignant esophageal and gastric (foregut) diseases, manage obesity through surgery, and treat abdominal wall hernias and diseases of the bile duct.
