Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU – Special Care for Newborns
As you prepare to welcome your new baby into the world, it’s important to know that Central Virginia’s only comprehensive, full-service hospital dedicated to the care of children is right here.
In the event that your baby will need special care, the neonatal intensive care unit at Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU (CHoR) provides the most advanced care available for premature and critically ill newborns.
The 32 private rooms and 4 rooms for multiples create quiet, healing surroundings to help your baby grow and gain strength, and to bring you comfort. The private rooms include a pull-out sofa, desk with internet access, secure wardrobe and breast milk refrigerator, and allow you or your partner to stay comfortably with your baby, even overnight.
With more than 15 locations, CHoR provides primary and specialty care for virtually all children’s health care needs, from pediatric emergencies, burn, trauma and transplant care to routine procedures and visits. For additional information, visit chrichmond.org.
